Rice Straw Vermicompost Enriched With Cellulolytic Microbes Ameliorate the Negative Effect of Drought in Wheat Through Modulating the Morpho-Physiological Attributes

Wheat growth and productivity are unfavorably pretentious by a lack of sufficient water (drought or deficit) worldwide. Drought stress significantly affects all the morpho-physiological biochemical characteristics agronomical yield wheat. Different management approaches have been adopted to cope with negative effects deficit. Soil-applied vermicompost is helpful in improving developmental processes wheat under deficit conditions. Therefore, trial was carried out optimize best amount assess its role ameliorating drought for sustainable crop production. The treatments consisted 1) two contrasting cultivars Faisalabad-08 (drought-tolerant) Galaxy-13 (drought-sensitive), 2) three levels [D 0 = 70% field capacity (no drought), D 1 45% (mild 2 30% (severe drought)] 3) cellulolytic microbe-enriched prepared from rice straw four (VT Control, VT 4 t ha ?1 , 6 3 8 ).
